NCLab and the Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records invite you to a series of online training workshops where you try out NCLab’s new sampler courses.

Sampler courses consist of ten to fifteen exercises each and are valuable for:

• Patrons who wish to explore programming and data analytics as career options.
• Clubs, camps and after-school programs needing a short tutorial coupled with activities.
• Anyone who would like to take courses offered through the library but would like to try a sampler first.
• Library staff training. The samplers give librarians a good feel for how NCLab “Learning by Doing” works and for skills acquired by taking the courses.

NCLab provides the sampler courses in the following areas:
 

• Introduction to Computer Programming (older audiences) + Karel Coding (younger audiences (approx. age 10 -13)
• Visual Intro to Python (Turtle Coding)
• CAD (3D Modeling basics) and CAD II (Let’s Build a Drone)
• SQL (Structured Query Language)
• Predictive Data Analytics with Python
• Python Programming (focus on Programming and Software Development) + a tour of the Linear Algebra sampler.

NCLab training is made possible by a Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records Continuing Education grant  funded by the Institute for Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act.
